OneNote should have greater hyperlink and bookmark capability

Like all other MS Office programs, OneNote should have a hyperlink icon on
the toolbar where you can link specifc text in a note to a bookmark within
OneNote (also add bookmark feature), file on your computer or internet URL.

Currently it appears that you must display the entire hyperlink (rather than
lnked text) and there is no bookmark feature

Hello Rick,

you should give OneNote 2007 Beta 2 a try, which is due in a couple of
weeks. OneNote 2007 supports hyperlinks and you can add the hyperlink icon
to your toolbars.
It does not support the kind of bookmark feature you are asking for.
Instead, it supports hyperlinks within OneNote. Therefore you could make a
page that only consists of links (external and internal ones) and use it as
your Bookmark page.
I hope you will like these new features and give them a test drive.

Right around the time I posted this, it became available. Don't bother
with downloading it right now though, the servers are way too busy.
