OneNote should let me manipulate text and pictures freely

OneNote is an interesting idea, but it needs a few tweaks. For example, it
would be really nice if one could paste pictures that aren't finished in each
note, then crop unwanted parts or change brightness/contrast, or rotate
freely as needed (i.e., use the Powerpoint picture formatting tools). Also,
it would be really useful if the text could be rotated freely. I've been
trying to use OneNote to keep a digital copy of my lab notes and it is
absolutely impossible to annotate scanned gels. The best solution I’ve come
up with so far is to adjust pictures and annotate in Powerpoint, then paste
the contents of the slide into a OneNote page. Unfortunately, rotated text
is no longer text but part of the image. Not useful if you want to be able
to search that text.

This is suggestion that we have heard a number of times, especially about the ability to crop pictures. It is on our list to cosider for future releases of OneNote.
As always, thank for describing your specific lab notes scenario. It helps us understand more about what you are trying to accomplish.
