onenote should support OLE and sub-pages better

M

MikeH

ONENOTE badly needs the following inprovements:

OLE
ability to make sub-subpages
ability to roll up subpages into main page
ability to open multiple pages (MDI - ish interface)

I used onenote for taking notes in undergraduate and now in law school and
overall am very happy with the product, but as more and more of my legal
research incorporates multiple data sources the lack of OLE is very
cumbersome.

Well, you can already make sub-pages. And you can open multiple pages by
opening new instances of OneNote. Window | New Window or CTRL+M if I recall
correctly.

As for the OLE support; that is a popular request.

Hear Hear!

The lack of OLE **SEVERELY** hampers the usability of OneNote.
The lack of VBA is VERY annoying.

Here is hoping for a miracle in OneNote 2.0 (due out around 1 year from
now).

Please Todd. I suggested as the first poster pointed out that no OLE
very severely hampers the usability of OneNote. I also added the
surprising lack of VBA -- UNLIKE any good other office app -- is
majorly restricting.
Attempt to keep things on topic.
Do you know what VBA is ? Do you think omitting it is acceptable ?
Why so ?

Omitting it was inevitable. They had a limited amount of time to get the
product from concept to CD and they did not have the time/resources to
include every possible feature anybody could possibly want. As has been
explained before.

Which is why he made it into my Bozo Bin (the Gravity title for what's
commonly known as a Twit Filter) fairly early on in my readings here.
That happened after I received a particularly insulting post, so his
<expletive deleted> just never shows up any more!

(No temptation to reply to troll-posts if you never SEE 'em, right?)

Hi Steve,

I hope you enjoy pumping up OneNote 1.0.
I'm sorry you think my ideas to improve OneNote make me a Bozo.
You must be a really powerful OneNote user to be able to call me a
Bozo.

I know what it is and I know that it isn't *needed* by everyone. Yes,
it's an acceptable omission for now.
