OneNote should view other Office docs

I have a weekly meeting that reviews and updates files created in MS Project,
Visio, Word and Excel. I update each of these files, then send them out to a
large distribution. I keep thinking OneNote should be able to help me do this
more efficiently, but I'm the only one with OneNote in the company so I can't
send out OneNote files.

I was hoping OneNote would allow me to open all these files and review &
mark up them without having to open each one individually while I show them
using a laptop projector.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

OLE support is missing from the current version and I agree it would be
helpful.

You can insert into a note FILE:// links to the files in question. You
could then click on the link to open up the file, edit/demo/whatever the
file, then close/minimize the file and return to OneNote. It takes a
certain amount of time in preparation, but in general, you hopefully are
spending time anyway preparing for the meeting (as opposed to wasting time
during the meeting if you're unprepared).

If you have SharePoint, you could use that to facilitate the meeting; store
the OneNote files and the related files in a SP Document Library and use SP
as the launching point for your meeting.

OLE is made for OneNote.
If OLE support is missing from the next version that would be
embarassing.
