OneNote skipping within page

Nicole

Hello,

I am having a problem with my OneNote. As I am typing, it will skip to
somewhere else in the document. This is very disruptive. It seems to happen
at random. I am not sure if it is a quick key. If it is, I have not been
able to find it. This does not happen with any other program. Please help.

Are you on a laptop or Tablet PC? It sounds as if you're accidentally
hitting a touchpad.

Ok, that's what I was thinking. But hwy is this not the case in any other
program? Does OneNote have its own touchpad setting?

May just be the way you're using it, Nicole. Are you on a laptop or Tablet
PC? I'd suggest trying to update or reinstall your graphics/display adapter
drivers. If you're on a Tablet PC (which is why I asked the question), you
may need to reinstall your pen drivers. A bit of information would help.

Sorry Chris. No I am not on a tablet PC. I think it may have something to
do with what happens in OneNote when the Alt key is pressed accidentally.
The cursor goes to whereever the arrow is.

Here is another thing I noticed. The problem has diminished substantially
since I installed more RAM. It happened to me only three times today.
Yesterday before the upgrade, it happened once every five minutes or so.

Ahh. Okay. Try going into Control Panel/Mouse first of all, and see what
your settings are on the various options. You may have a specific program
from whatever drivers you're using which invoke certain actions when certain
keys are pressed. Depending on the software you've got installed, you may
also have a listing off the All Programs listings specific to either your
keyboard or mouse settings.

Pressing Alt by itself jumps the selection to the menus to allow you to
navigate them by keyboard (as with other Office apps). You can hit Esc to
come back where you were. We have no feature that moves the insertion point
to where the cursor is with a keystroke that I know of. Maybe you have an
accessibility setting turned on?

Also please note that there are many keyboard navigation shortcuts that
start with Alt. Check out Help/Keyboard shortcuts.
