I would like to see OneNote enhanced with real, honest-to-pete,
outlining capability a-la Grandview, Brown Bag PC Outline, etc.
Real outlining functionality (I'm NOT talking PIM here...) is missing
from the entire MS Office series of offerings, as far as I know. (If
it's there, *please* someone let me know where!) It wouldn't bother
me a bit if it were a separate product offering (and yes, I'd even pay
for it). As it stands now, I dust off my old GrandView diskettes and
install them on my PC du jour, and hold my breath to see what happens.
But what I'd really like is a Windows-based single- or double-pane
outliner.
Anybody else have the same requirements? In talking to others, I find
that most folks have never used an outliner, but when I show them what
such s/w can do, they're always anxious to add an outliner to their
Windows-based toolbox. Maybe there is such a thing - I know there are
many standalone products available - Zoot, Ecco, Maple, ... but I'm
not sure of their level of integration with Office components.
