Onenote Sync

Why does onenote not sync all my notebooks? I have so many notes in many
notebooks and is there no way to take them with me on my ppc?

Its not realistic to first copy all my data to the onenote mobile section.
And even then, everything saved by using the send to on feature gets saved
in the unfiled notebook. So you have to first save to that, then copy from
that to Onenote mobile section so that it can move to the ppc??

Has to be an easier way- any help anyone?

Thanks,
Ajay

Are you talking specifically about syncing all of your data to your mobile
device via ActiveSync? If so, the reason is that even with the latest
greatest device, there is nowhere near enough storage to store all of the
data found in the average set of Notebooks. It's possible that as mobile
devices get more storage capacity, that a future version of ON might be
able to let you sync all of your data. Right now it's purely a matter of
the differences in storage capacity in your average mobile device vs. your
average PC.

Thanks so much.

I had already done a search and am already using your addin for the time
being.

Even looking at the storage capacity problem explained by Erik, there should
be some way to sync a specified notebook with the ppc. For example, my need
is to be able to sync only the unfiled notes and i just dont want to sort
thru them all b4 i get the ones i want to carry on the ppc.

Very helpful if the whole notebook syncs. Till then, your way it is!

Thanks again.

Eric's answer is most of the story. The other part is that OneNote Mobile
was developed on a short timetable and for a fairly restricted kind of
device and as a result they weren't able to implement every feature they
might have wanted to.

Other features were given higher priority in this version.

Perhaps the next version will offer a little more flexibility as to what
notebooks you can sync natively.
