OneNote uses 100% CPU

My OneNote SP1 (on Windows XP Professional) uses up to 100% of the CPU. Not
always, but sometimes if my PC slowed down, I checked the Task Manager and
found out that OneNote was very busy.

I can't say since when I have that problem. I found it out some weeks ago.

What can I do?
Does anybody else know the same behaviour of OneNote?

Hmmm....I haven't seen it do that myself.

There is this article:

said you already have SP1 so I'm not sure how relevent that will be.

Any pattern to when it happens? Was the machine idle when it started or
were you doing something? Did you have OneNote open at the time or was it
just on the tray?

Beside what Ben recommended, have you tried doing a Repair from Help/Detect
and Repair in OneNote?

In addition to what Ben and Chris said, have you changed any of the options
related to how often a backup is created or when ON optimizes its files?
Do you have lots of sections with a lot of content? Is there a Task Pane
open when this happens? I notice sometimes when I'm working with the Notes
Flag Summary open, ON slows a bit when it updates a flag's status.
