Onenote version incompatibility?

J

Jeff

Fresh installation of Office 2003 professional and
OneNote2003 on WinXP professional.
I am getting following error;
This file is from a different version of OneNote. Your
version cannot load this file. There may be a converter
avaialable.....

All menus grayed out. This happens when I start OneNote.
The one installed is not demo and activation went without
problem.
Office(Word, Access etc) works fine.
If you have any idea, please advise me.

Is it a file created by you on this new installation? Or
a file from another person/computer?

I would close OneNote, copy out all of the *.ONE and
*.ONETOC files out of your "My Notebook" directory and
then start OneNote again. Some of the default sections
should be automatically recreated (Sidenotes/QuickNotes,
etc.). Then try to create and then access those notes
again and report back what happens. This will help
determine if the problem is in your installation or with
one (or more) bad data file(s).
