Hi,
I can't get OneNote to run through an SSH tunnel. I need this to collaborate
with our corporate partners, who seem to have a somewhat unusual firewall
that will not let OneNote through even when I'm hosting the session on port
80, but will let ssh connections through.
I have reproduced this on a local network with no firewalls, and no other
distractions---a direct connection works, but one through an SSH tunnel does
not. I have tried both mapping a port on the local machine (via both Putty
and Cygwin SSH) through a Linux box to port 2302 on the other OneNote
machine, and mapping port 2302 on a Linux box through a 2nd Linux box to port
2302 on the other OneNote machine. I have also tunneled http and Internet
Explorer works just fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I thought that since OneNote uses a
regular TCP connection, it should tunnel with no problems?
Sincerely,
Dan
