OneNote would be a great organizer for small offices if ....

If other common file types, such as PDFs, could be inserted as pictures. It
would also be even better if it could function as a document storage/indexing
program, allowing you to see previews of existing documents, and enabling you
to associate notes with those documents.

There is a OneNote printer driver that will insert them as images...

I actually prefer it to using the insert.. word method as I can do it from
the document, rather than opening OneNote.

On document storage - it's not designed as a document database and it gets
sluggish as the file size grows. However, printing to OneNote inserts the
file as an image and you can mark it up.

I'm curious about this comment, "not designed as a place for document
storage". I plan to keep lots of notes and images in One Note so I can
quickly refer to them. this may involve 6mos of documents. Will One Note be
able to handle that? I don't want anything "sluggish". How can I manage the
file sizes?
