OneNote ?

Hi,
I THINK I've successfully just set up a very small home network. My printer
is working okay and one of the very few programs I would like to use on both
my desktop and notebook is OneNote. I've got the program mapped to a network
drive and available to view offline. However, when opening any of the
sections/folders/pages, etc. it tries to open with "Word" and then everything
comes up in that jibberish you sometimes see.

One question that may seem stupid: Am I supposed to first actually install
OneNote on BOTH computers. I only have it installed on the desktop. I was
thinking that the notebook would let me open, read and amend any folders,
sections or pages. Now I'm thinking that I really do need to actually
INSTALL on both ...hmm

Any help is appreciated as always.

THanks,
Linda

OneNote is a program with its own separate datatype (i.e. the internal
file structure of the *.ONE files). In order to read/modify the contents
of any *.ONE section file, you need OneNote. There is currently no file
viewer as found for some of the the other Office file types.

You would need to install OneNote on any computer on which you want to
view these files. Section 1 of the EULA (Help | About OneNote | "View
the End User License Agreement") should clarify the circumstances under
which you are allowed to install and use two copies of OneNote on
different computers.
