OneNote's Files - Moving and using on another computer

I had originally created a OneNote Notebook on one computer and changed the
default directory to c:\data, which is where I keep all my data files that
will need to be backed up. I am trying to copy this file to another computer
which is where I will ultimately run OneNote but am unable to get the whole
file over there. I only get pieces or the latest change, etc. I also tried to
save it as one single packge but that didn't work either. So my first
question is how do I safely move a Notebook from one place to another.

Ultimately, I would like to keep the file on the first computer and run
OneNote from the second, pointing to the location on the first one across the
network. Assuming my network connection is fine and the network name is
available (e.g., \\one\c\data\notebook.one, will I run into any trouble by
doing this?

I sort of can see that OneNote tries to do a local sync. Is this a better
way to approach it?

Thank you.
