Hello,
I just started having a problem where the Office Online update scan does not
recognize previous updates that I have already applied. This problem just
started occurring within the last month or so. I am running Windows 98SE
with Office 2000 Professional. Basically, when I attempt the online scan for
updates, the tool indicates that I need the patch all the way back to SR-1a,
which I know I already applied some time ago (in fact, I'm updated to SP-3).
The online update tool allows me to download the SR-1a installer, but as
expected, when I run it, I get a message to the effect that the update has
already been applied to this machine.
Because the online update scan thinks I still need the SR-1a update, I am no
longer able to get any of the letter updates.
Anyone aware of why this has suddenly cropped up? I have been using the
update tool with success for some time until just recently. Could this
problem have anything to do with the latest windows security patch? Any
suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...
