When a Blackberry handheld user adds an appointment and/or accepts a meeting
onto their calendar, the Blackberry system adds that item into the calendar
on the Exchange Information store/database. That process kicks off an
Exchange process to update the Free/Busy data for that mailbox. The
Free/Busy data is stored in a Microsoft Exchange public folder called
Schedule+ Free Busy Information. The Exchange default is to publish 2 or 3
months of Free/Busy data. Later on a different person is using Outlook to
view the BlackBerry user's free/busy data. The 3 months is too little data
and the meeting planner cannot find free time for a meeting that is 6 months
(and so on) in the future. The Outlook user sees slash marks instead of
actual free/busy data. Have you encountered this problem and if so how are
you dealing with it ? Thanks.
