I have a secured Access 97 SR-2 database that is split.
The front ends reside on the workstations and the back end
is on the server. There are about 15 users. 10 of the
workstations load the database immediately and navigate to
and update records in less than a second, whereas 5 of
them take 30+ seconds to load the database and 20+ seconds
to navigate to and update records. The 5 slow computers
are new computers with plenty of processing power. Any
idea what the problem is?
Could it be a problem with reference libraries or
Microsoft Jet database engine versions? I really have no
clue what the problem is because the database works so
well on 2/3 of the machines.
Thanks if you can help,
