Only Allows Certain Autoshapes

I've been having a problem whereby it only lets me select certain autoshapes.
Some i will click on and they will be highlighted so i can use them, others i
will click on and nothing will happen.

To better explain it, ive taken a screen recording of the problem which can
be found at:

Any ideas on why this might be happening or how to combat it are greatly
appreciated

It's usually helpful to mention which version of PPT you're using.

That said, thanks for the video. That's PPT 2007, I'll assume Beta 2.

And *that* said, it actually looks to me as if the shapes are all being
selected. Which ones aren't? If you're referring to the Elbow Connector and
the Scribble, they do the same thing here -- they don't look like they're
selected once I move my mouse away, but they really are. Try just clicking
them and then clicking and dragging on your slide. With the scribble, you'll
get a pencil cursor when you're on the slide. (Scribble doesn't really work
right in Beta 2, though.) With the Elbow Connector, your arrow cursor will
become a crosshairs.

So I'm thinking it's just a matter of the visual selection indicator not
working right.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is PPT07 Beta2.

Any you're right about the problem just being with the visual indicator and
about scribble not working. It was actually the scribble not working that
made me realise this in the first place. I guess i'll have to draw it in
ppt03 and copy it.

Just for reference, i've taken another video at:

Glad you got it worked out. I think drawing the object in 2003 and copying
it over is a fine idea! :) Welcome to the wonderful world of beta
testing...
