Only entourage works

Office 2004 and OS 10.3.4

Office X works fine, but all Office 2004 apps except Entourage quit at
the splash screen and ask me if I want to send an error report. I
didn't really think it would be the fonts since Office X works, but I
pulled them all out and tested individually, but it doesn't seem to be
the fonts.

When I check the applications in System Profiler, it only lists
Entourage.

Any ideas?

Try repairing permissions.
For OS 10.2/10.3:
Go to Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities. Open up Disk Utility. Select
your hard disk, then click the First Aid tab. Click the button to "Repair
Disk Permissions".

Run Disk First Aid. Instructions on how to run it in OS X are located on
the Apple Knowledge Base.

If that doesn't work, try removing and re-installing Office 2004.
1. Launch the Remove Office tool, located in HD/Applications/Microsoft
Office 2004/Additional Tools/Remove Office.
2. Press the "Continue" button to locate currently installed copies of
Office.
3. Select the version(s) of Office that you want to remove, and press the
"Continue" button.
4. Choose what components you wish to remove. For a complete removal,
choose to "Remove the Office 2004 folder," "Remove the selected Office 2004
system files," and "Preferences."

When the removal is complete, you can then re-install Office 2004 from the
CD.

Susan,

Try Repairing Permissions (with Apple's Disk Utility) BEFORE and AFTER any
system upgrade as well as BEFORE and AFTER installing any software that uses
an installer.

I know it sounds like OS X voodoo, and it is; but it fixes and prevents a
bunch of problems.

Additionally, if your machine does not run 24/7 so that it runs the daily,
weekly and monthly Cron Scripts in the middle of the night as intended, run
Cocktail (shareware) as well.

Try turning off filevault (if you are using it).
