Only I can access outlook 2007, my wife & dauther can't

We have three user accounts on my PC, whose configuration is core 2 quad, 4GB
RAM, 500 GB SATA HDD, 500 GB VRAM running vista ultimate and office 2007,
vista SP2 and office SP2 installed. One year back I had XP pro and I was
accessing outlook then via my account as well my wife was able to access her
contacts and mail after logging in her user account on starting windows. . I
created 3 similar accounts on my vista PC mine is always an administrator
account, my wife's an administrator and kid's account is limited. My wife
has logged in windows through her account multiple times successfully, but
she tried to start outlook 2007 for the first time after starting windows. It
gave an error message, "you do not have permisison to log on to the
following: C/users/alpalok/Appdata/Local/Microsoft/Outlook/Outlook.pst. My
user name is alpalok, what I don't understand is why outlook is seeking my
..pst data folder, why it does not create a new data folder and .pst file for
my wife and my kid, it gave the same message when my kid tried to start
outlook. I am frustrated because then only I can use outlook 2007. Can you
help me ?

Sincerely,

Dr Alok Modi MD

P.S Has it anything to do with the fact that I donwloaded outlook connector
few days back and using that now ?

No I did not. I don't know how to create a profile. I thought it would be
easier if each accesses each person's mails and contact details after logging
in individually in windows rather than accessing their outlook data after me
logging in to windows. Also then the .pst files will be stored in different
folders and would make taking backups for me easier.
Pl guide me as to how I should solve this problem.

You can create profiles and email accounts in the Control Panel's Mail
applet.

But Pat
this way I will be creating 3 profiles one for myself, one for my wife and
one for my kid. And they will be accessed only when I log on to windows and I
will have my wife and kid choose which profile to use when they start
microsoft outlook. Can you help me with a system, where my wife will
automatically go to her profile when she logs on to windows and same for my
kid and not after I have logged onto windows.

The only way you can do that is to set up separate WINDOWS User Accounts for
each user.....then each will get a separate Outlook Profile.

Gordon, pardon me but you have not read my question. I had already created
three windows user accounts, mine and my wife's are administrative accounts,
my daughter's is limited. When my wife or my daughter opens outlook after
logging into windows through their account, outlook is , I don't know why
directing itself to my outlook .pst file and folder. (pl see the topmost
thread). Outlook is not creating three separate user profiles inspite of
three windows user accounts. Pl help me.

You must create a new profile for each of them:

I thought Outlook did that automatically with separate Windows Users - it
always has here....

I think that something has gone awry if the Outlook profile already points
to the incorrect PST.

Exactly that was my point. Previously when I had win XP pro, it created a new
profile for each new windows user automatically. I am not an IT person, but
when I opened the mail options via the control panel, I saw that my .pst file
is marked as the default. I think that nothing should be marked as a default
? Am I right ?

When you create a new Windows User it should automatically create a new
Outlook profile. It shouldn't even SEE the pst file in your User account.
Something is seriously wrong with your set-up...

So can you pl help me ? Is it because I have recently loaded and installed
outlook connector? Should I reinstall outlook or is ity beacuse of
installation of office SP2 ?
