Hi Rob,
I experimented with Visio 2003 SP1 and Visio 2003 SP2 and did not see a
difference in behavior. Here is what I tried:
- Drop a Main Topic shape on the page
- Right click on the Main Topic shape to add a sub-topic
- Drag and drop a second Main Topic shape on the page
- Using the Connector tool, draw a connector between the second Main Topic
and the unconnected end of the sub-topic
In each version of Visio the connection between the sub-topic and original
Main Topic is removed as soon as the connection between the sub-topic and
second Main Topic is created. I believe this behavior is intentional, but I
need to check with the developers to be sure.
I did discover an inconsistency though. Instead of drawing a connector to
link the sub-topic and second Main Topic, go to the window with the tree
control and drag the second Main Topic node on top of the sub-topic node.
This creates a new association without removing the previous one.

Thanks for reporting this information, Rob. I'm not aware of this type of
issue with Brainstorming but will try to investigate.
