Only sending to first e-mail in contact

When one contact is selected and "new message to contact"
is pressed, all e-mail addresses for that contact are
used. (which is desired) When multiple contacts are
selected and "new message to contact" is pressed only the
first e-mail address for each individual contact is used.
(not desired)

Any way to get around this?
