Only text and image place holders from web pasting, not actual ima

When trying to copy and paste both image and text from a web page, I get the
text fine but the images show as placeholders not the actual image. This
occurs in both IE7 and Firefox2.0. I am using Word 2007

The images are javascript popup hyperlinks as well so I don't know if this
is an issue.

If I "copy image" then paste it works fine. There are too many images to do
this one by one.

I've looked at other similar postings but suggestions haven't resolved issue.

You need to go into Word Options and clear the check box for Picture
Placeholders and also ensure that in Printer options that include pictures
is checked.

Terry thanks for your help, but it still isn't displaying the images. I
ensured that the check box for Picture Placeholders was clear and also the
Printer Options "include pictures" was checked.

Does the fact that the picture is also a javascript link affect the pasting
operation?

The hyperlink is
javascript:popImage('IMG_6','http://images.books24x7.com.lp.hscl.ufl.edu/bookimages/id_17016/fig73_01_0.jpg','868','1000')

Like I said, if I right click and "copy image" from the webpage the image
pastes fine, it's only when I copy both text and images that I have a problem.

Yes. I should have noted exactly what you were saying. It is obviously
copying the link to its source rather than the image itself. When you select
the graphic, right-click and copy, you are grabbing the image not the link.

However do you know what option/setting I can change so I do not have to
right-click an individual image? I'm trying to copy the entire contents of
multiple pages and there are too many images to copy one-by-one.

I recall in the past not having this problem. On other machines I've been
able to select both text and images (similar to mentioned below) and
successfully paste both into word. I wish I had access to those machines so I
could compare settings

I believe that you will find that it is due to the way the sites are
constructed rather than any setting on your machine. This is to stop 'bots'
from taking whole sites and using them as their own.

Yes maybe so, but it doesn't explain why a month or so ago I was able to
successfully copy and past all the contents on a machine running XP SP3 and
Word2007.......too bad I cannot access that machine anymore. Next week I'll
give it a shot on another Vista/Office 2007 box

thanks for your time

I would also like to add that I was just able to successfully copy both text
and graphics and then paste into a Google Document

That's weird then. Are you still able to copy the graphics into Word from
that web page?

Hi Rob,

Do you have a URL for a web page you're testing this with?
Browser to Browser pasting (as would be the case with Google docs) would be handled a bit differently in some aspects than pasting
basically from your temporary internet file cache to a Word app.

What is the build/version level of Word 2007 under
Office Button=>Word Option=>Resources ?

As you're interested in full pages, from your description, what From Internet Explorer what result do you get from Internet
Explorer's
File=>Edit with Microsoft Word

I would also like to add that I was just able to successfully copy both text
and graphics and then paste into a Google Document>>
