Only two pages print in some Word documents

This has been bewildering.

Some of my documents will only print the first two pages no matter
what I try. I even saved the document as a pdf file, and the entire 20
page document showed up as pdf, but again only the first two pages
printed. I've tried saving as text and back to Word, completely
reformating the documents, and printing. Again, only 2 pages print.
This happens only on a few (very important) documents.

Any ideas out there?

Google the group. Something like this was resolved the other day. IIRC
it involved a foreign font and strange character on the first failing
page.

I found the previous post, the problem there was with the Symbol font.
I was using KoineRegular font (a New Testament Greek font) in my
document and found that the first page failing to print did indeed
contain this font. Once I changed all fonts to a standard font (I
tried TimesNewRoman), the pages printed fine.

I've used KoineRegular for years but never had this problem. What do I
do? Are there updated fonts for later systems? I'm using System 10.2.8

Ahh. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not font.

Dunno. What happens in TextEdit or BBEdit when you use KoineRegular?
What happens if you print to PDF first?

Somewhere between Word and Mac OS X, font handling is a little bit
broken. They never have got on well together, What kind of font is your
Koine thing? Postscript? (expect bad things) Word has had some
difficulty keeping up with Apple and Postscript one way or another. Is
there another font similar? Try raiding PCs font libraries - that might
turn up a truetype version, which is often more Microsoft friendly.

Another thing to try (bit of a long shot) - try cleaning up your font
folders. Make sure Koine is in only one of the three main folders
~/library/fonts
/library/fonts
/System Folder/Fonts (this one is the Classic font folder, use it for
preference if you use Koine in any Classic application)

Then google the group again for the magical spell for cleaning out
Word's font cache. Restart Word, and pray ;-)
