OnSubmitRequest

I have an InfoPath form that users can successfully submit to a SharePoint
library through a custom data connection.

However, I want to also be able to set some node values on submitting the
form.

Should I write an OnSubmitRequest script in the form's script.js file? Will
this over-ride the currently configured OnSubmit function? How should I
proceed?
