Ooooops - what have I done?

Hi guys,

After working on a macro I have started to get the following error when
exiting Word:

"Word cannot save changes to the global template because it was opened with
read access only. Do you want to save the changes in a template with
another name?"

I dont know what is causing this? Even if I dont run my macro - when I exit
word I still get
the error message.

Now I do have a template in the startup folder which adds a button to the
toolbar at word startup, but that has all been working. even if I replace
all the templates and startup template with known working old versions from
backups I still get the message. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Further to my last post - if I start word by holding the SHIFT key
everything is fine.

I guess this confirms it is something to do with my code - but the weird
thing is that
everything WAS working fine. Dunno how I screwed it up.

The only bit that is autoloaded is the template in the startup fodler that
adds the btn
but I have not changed that code.

puzzled.

Hi Al,

You might try if a simple reboot fixes it.
Maybe you had two instances of Word running, and one was blocking write
access to the template.

If that doesn't help, quit Word and clean out stray temporary files in the
startup and the templates folder.

Greetings,

Your template has styles
Modify one of them
Your template has now changed and needs saving
