Open a document activate all opened documents, how to disable it ?

When opening (from windows explorer) a word document, all the previous word
documents (even when minimized) get activated, which changes for example the
alt-tab sequence.
For my personal preferences, it's very annoying.
Is there any way to disable it ? I look the entire advanced options without
success.
