open a form according to field data...?

I have a PROFILES table that houses the primary key (resource number) for many different TYPES of resources (CG, CL, FG, etc.)

How can I setup a form to open and show only one TYPE

I'm thinking that you might suggest building a table for each different TYPE. I've thought of this but it presents a problem because each PROFILE needs to be unique. If I use different tables then there's a chance to use duplicate PROFILE's. Or is there a way around this
