open a new doc from word template in web browser

Hello, I am trying to link a word template to open in a new browse, however I need it to open a new document base on the template so that the Macro will run which has popups to fill out the documant. which has you create a shortcut in windows explore, this only works if you have a mapped connection to the drive and will not work for general users how only have access through a web browse

If IE and Word security are both set to medium, you can upload the
file to the user's machine and trigger it from there. We used a
vbscript in the ie page to play silly buggers.

What we want is for the user to click on the link to the template and have it open a new document, not the template
we do not want them to save the template
The link is in a webpage on the internet

Can you tell how to achive this??

You have a link that triggers a small script on the web page to copy
the file to a temporary directory and launch it. We have only just
finished proof of concept for this at work and I don't have access to
all the details.

There's also the Filetype settings for Word Documents in the IE Tools

Options too. Check that out.
