open a picture to insert a graphic in Word 2003

How do I open a picture or graphic to insert a graphic. I was able to
do this with recipe cards in Windows 98 using Word 95. I simply
highlighted the card, right clicked to the left of the card, clicked open
picture. I then copied, pasted and resized the graphic and clicked the
"close picture" box in the left corner of the document. "Open picture"
does not seem to be available in Word 2003.

If all you want to do is replace the graphic with another, simply select the
original graphic and either paste the replacement from the clipboard or
insert > picture > from file.
