I am unable to open a Works file attached to an email with my MS Word
Program, 2002 version. Any suggestions?

Paul,

My version of Word 2003 can read/write multiple versions of Microsoft
Works files, and Microsoft Works can read/write multiple versions of
Word files. Why need to use RTF?

Paul,

Oh. So in other words, the Works/Word conversion filters are unreliable
or buggy?

Actually, I don't use Works and don't have need to convert. However, I
notice a significant number of peole asking here or elsewhere how to do
it, and more often than not the advice is doing something other than
using native Word or Works format ... So many people expect to hear a
complex answer, and more often than not the complex answer is given.

Being inquisitive, I've tried simply opening Works in Word, and visa
versa, and "it just works".

Hence wondering, why go to complexity of something else?

I guess I'm still not sure I've gotten to the bottom of it, but I guess
until I experience otherwise, I'd tell people to "just open in what you
have and it should work". Curious why this expectation not the "norm".
Why can't we expect it to "just work"?

Computers and people are funny beasts, I guess.
