Open All Presentations in Slide View?

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel In PowerPoint 2004, two of the view options in the View menu were Normal and Slide. In addition to the slide itself, Normal view showed the list of the slides on the left and the Notes pane at the bottom. Slide view showed only the slide. There was also a set of buttons at the bottom left of the window for changing views. In PowerPoint 2008, Normal view shows slide thumbnails (not just a list) on the left and the Notes pane at the bottom. However, with the default setup, selecting Slide view is not an option in the View menu, and the button is missing from the bottom left of the window. The menu selction and a toolbar button can be added using the Customize Toolbars and Menus option. PowerPoint 2008 seems to default to opening all presentations in Normal view. Then I have to select Slide view to get rid of the thumbnails and the Notes pane. What I want is for PowerPoint 2008 to open all presentations in Slide view. Is this possible?

Go to PowerPoint> Preferences - View, select 'Slide View' from the 'Default
view for new presentations' pop-up.

That's correct - any existing presentations open in the view in which they
were last saved. There is no option to do otherwise unless you can configure
an Apple Script to do it for you.
