Open and Repair issues

I am currently opening a word 2000 template in Word 2003. The template will
not launch by using file>new. When I open and repair the template, a show
repairs window appears, listing Internal Data Integrity (type 4) error (2 of
them) and List errors (1-30). I am not the original creator of this template
and need to rectify this error so all our users do not experience this
problem. Is there something that I need to check/update?

Any response would be helpful as I am a new user to VBA.

Use the Tools > Organiser to drag over Template stuff from the old
template to a new template - created in 2003. Then, to copy the
content, copy everything except the last paragraph mark.

You probably have bizzaro list templates, a common Word 2k problem.
