"Open as Read only" shortcut

I am using Word 2003 on XP.

Opening a Word document in a shared folder causes Word
to lock the file, preventing anyone else from modifying it.
When I am just reading the document and have no desire
to modify it, I would like to have Word open the file as
read-only, thereby allowing others to edit the file while
I am reading it.

To open the file as read only, I have to start Word and then
manually open the file with the Read-only option. Instead,
I would like to create a Windows shortcut that I can put in
my SendTo folder that opens Word files as read-only.
Using Windows Explorer, I could then right-click on a file
and select the SendTo "Word (Read only)" shortcut to open
the file in read-only mode. This would not lock the file,
thereby allowing others to change the file while I am
reading the document.

Thanks,
Tony
