Open attachment for Power Point

I know this may not be the correct group, but.....I do not have Power Point
on my system but I must open an attachment that has a .ppt file. Is there a
program that will just open the program so I can read the document?

There's the MS PowerPoint Viewer here:

which will allow you to view only,
OR.......
you could download and install the free Open Office which will allow you to
open, read AND edit PowerPoint files.
