i am trying to locate documents by extensions to delete
multiple documents and this version of word won't let me
do that. the error message i get is "the filename,
location or format ".ext" (not what we use)is not valid.
type the filename and location in the correct format,
such as C:\location\filename. i have done that and it
still doesnt work. there has to be a way to fix this
because locating one by one just takes a really long
time. any suggestions? i have also tried the
suggestions given so far and they havent worked either.

Open Windows Explorer and sort the folder by file type. Then you'll have all
the ".ext" files together, and you can select them as a block.
Alternatively, use Windows Search to look for "*.ext." The files collected
in the Search Results window can then be deleted.
