Open dialogue box, how to resize

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)

In Word, when I open the Open dialogue box, the box fills the whole screen so that I can't fully see the Cancel or Open buttons at the bottom, and can't see the resize handle bottom right at all. Clicking the green button top left does nothing. How can I resize the Open dialogue box so that it fits my screen?

How large is your screen size, and more importantly, what is your screen
resolution? Can you change it to a higher setting?
