Open document --- accesses floppy

I recently upgraded to Windows XP, and am using Office XP for teachers and
students. When opening up a previously created Word or Excel document from
my My Documents folder, the computer accesses the floppy drive for the first
5 or 6 documents I open during the day, even though the original document was
never stored on a floppy. What is causing this? It is more of an annoyance
than a real problem.

Thank you for any help you might be able to give me to stop this accessing.

Try this, right-click start, properties, Start Menu tab, customize, Advanced tab,
clear list.
