They could be anything. Files can carry any name. Worth bearing in mend
whenever dealing with file attachments in email.
The best thing to do is ask the person who sent them to you what they
are and what you are supposed to do with them.
That being said, WPD extension suggest to me it's a Word Perfect 6.0
docment which generally is readable in Word as long as you have the
right folders.
