open Excel97 from Excel2000

I am able to open excel 97 sheet from 2000 and how?

Just as you would any other workbook. The file formats for 97 onwards are all the same. File /
Open / Select file, or double click it from an explorer view.

Same as any other Excel file, a *.xls file. Then just hit new mail on your mail programme and hit
attach and then select the file. You could also do it directly from the file whilst it is open,
by just selecting File / Send To / Mail recipient as attachment.
