Open File Broken

This is a rather odd problem, but I will explain it the best I can.

In short the open file dialog box UI in Office 2007 is broken on my
computer. When I try to open a file on my computer using the open file
dialog box I cannot select a file/folder. No matter what happens you just
cannot select what is being displayed.

However, if you close the open file dialog box and open a new one;
everything works as it should. Now I have tested this by CTRL+O, and by
using the UI. Sadly I still get the same result. If anyone has any
suggestions on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.

In Windows XP, right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows
desktop or in the Start menu, left-click on Disconnect Network Drive,
and disconnect any mapped drives that are not currently available.
Windows Vista should have a similar option.
