Open Form and GoToNew with an ID from the first form

In a Contact - Order database

If I am looking at the Contact form, it has a subform with the orders
that were placed by that contact. They are linked by the ContactID.
I used the double click on the subform to be able to open the Order
form and go to the specific Order made by that contact. If there are
no orders on the subform, I have the double click action open the
Order Form and Go to a new record.

But what I would like the double click action to really do is to open
the Order Form and insert the Contact that I was looking at.

Is that possible?

Very simple. If it is a linked subform, use the Contact Name as the default
value of that field in the subform. In reality though, you should only be
storing the ContactID in the subform's underlying table.
