open form from SB weirdness

Hi all,
I have a db originally created with AccessXP. I am now using AX07.
I have a button on my switchboard that simply opens another form named
"frmSearch". This form contains an active x control only. If I use the
button on my switchboard to open frmSearch, the labels on the active X
control all go black. But if I use my shortcut (^S) to open frmSearch the
labels are visible. After I use my short cut and then close frmSearch, if I
use the button on the switcboard the labels on frmSearch remain visible.
Anyone know why this is happening?
