Open From "Look in" Drop Down Hangs

Multiple users are having a similar problem opening a file. If they
navigate, by selecting the file folders that appear in the center white box,
the file will open. If they navigate by selecting the "Look In" drop down
box, the application hangs.

The application will also hang if using the "Look In" drop down box to try
to save a file.

Any suggestions?

The version of word is 2003 SP 2

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
