When I click on a hyperlink in an office XP application, I am not always
taken to the same web page as if I pasted the URL into the IE6 address bar.
For example: an intranet site URL may be:
http://my.domain.com/webpage1.asp?name=myname
if I paste this into the IE6 address bar, I get directed to a login page
first, i.e. http://my.domain.com/login.asp then after successfully logging
in, I get directed to the URL I pasted in.
However, if I open the exact same hyperlink from an Office XP application, I
get directed to the login page, but then I don't get directed to the URL I
pasted in. Instead I go to the main page, as if an initial URL was not
provided.
I don't understand why IE6 seems to be handling the same URL differently if
it opens it as a "hyperlink" from Word or Excel.
Please help!
