Open mdb in shared folder on another computer on local network

Three computers with Windows XP and Access 2003.

The first two computers were new installs over the weekend at two separate companies.

When I attempt to open a database in a shared folder I receive a dialog box with the Open and Cancel options, which has the Windows
firewall logo (yellow), saying the file may have a virus. The title bar says "Open File - Security Warning."

I can not find any options to remove this dialog.

On the 3rd computer at home everything worked normally in the morning but after I returned home in the afternoon I started receiving
the same dialog.

This computer is running in a virtual machine (legally) so I rolled back to a previous snapshot and now I do not receive the dialog.

On all computers Access is set to Macro-->Security-->Low. Windows Update is turned Off.

Windows firewall is turned on at the two companies and antivirus software is installed.

The firewall is turned off on the virtual machine and no antivirus software is installed.

Is anyone else having this problem and is it possible that this is another one of Microsoft's "stealth updates?"

The above is not windows...I think this is your virus software. I would
either "test" with the virus software disabled to see what happens. if it
fixes the problem, then you can set mde + mdb files to be exempt from virus
scans...as this will also fix many performance problems also...

If disabling the virus software don't fix this , you could try disabling the
windows firewall for a test, but those dialogs you speak of don't sound like
the windows, or ms-access dialogs at all...it sounds like your virus
software at work here....

Thank you,

As noted in my original post my computer at home has no antivirus installed and windows firewall is turned off. This Computer worked
normally until two days ago when the dialog box started showing up. The dialog box definitely has the windows firewall logo in
yellow.

After returning to a snapshot on the virtual machine the dialog box no longer appears.

Also I configured the antivirus software at the two separate companies to not scan md* files (I am the only one who uses uncompiled
Access).
