Open Message when no record found

Hi,
everytime i search a record it opens a blank form and saves the record. is
there anyway i can make the system to open a message everytime a user trys to
search a non - existant record? and remain on the same page/form/record!

How are you going about "searching"? Is the purpose of the Form to allow
the user to change or add a new record? What "_same_ page/form/record"?

Generally, if you open a bound Form but don't enter a value in one or more
fields, you can close without saving. If you don't want to let the user to
add new records, under the Data tab of the Form's property sheet, set Allow
Additions to No.

But, if you clarify, perhaps someone can make a useful suggestion.
