Open multiple PowerPoint windows in XP

I installed my Office 2000 CD on my new Windows XP
machine. Now, when I open more than one PowerPoint (or
Excel) file, they open within one parent PowerPoint
window. I don't want that. I want them to open as two
independent windows. I don't have this problem with Word,
but I do with PowerPoint and Excel. What is going on? How
can I make different PowerPoint files open as two
seperate windows?

Tools - Options - View tab. Place a check next to Windows in Taskbar.

Try unchecking the box, check Ok, close PP, Open PP and go back in and
rechecking the box, then click OK and see if it fixes the problem.
