Open Office Document problem....

I have Windows XP, MS Office 2002, Norton Anti-Virus 2002. Computer
about a year and half old.

Today when I click on "open office document" from the Office shortcut
bar and then click on a document to open, a little "flag" appears on the
status bar momentarily before the document opens. Haven't seen this
"flag" before. It is red, blue and yellow in color. Sometimes get
"requesting virus scan" message.

I have not had that "flag" or message before, although I am aware that
Norton does scan documents. Disabling the "office plug-in" in Norton
has no effect.

The only thing I have done in the past couple of days is install the
Nero 6 Cd/DVD burning program as well as the latest Windows Updates. The
INcd part of Nero 6 seemed to be somehow involved with the appearance of
this "flag". I had to remove INCD from my computer as the sequence of
events would be: click "open office document", click on document,
"flag" comes up, office document won't open, "flag" stays on status bar.
Had to right click on "flag", click "close". Box comes up with
osa.exe program ending - takes a while after clicking "end program".
After removal of INcd, I am able to open an office document from the
Office shortcut bar, but the "flag" still comes up as the document
opens. Disabling Office plug-in within Norton or disabling Norton
auto-protect by right clicking on it has no effect.

Has anyone else had this happen recently? I have searched the internet
for anything similar but cannot find any connecton to NERO INcd causing
such a problem.

Thanks for any hints as to where to look next for clues as to why this
is occuring.
