open pictures from photo gallery in new window

I use photo gallery with a "montage" layout.
while in the website, clicking on a thumbnails open the photo in the same
window.
(demands the browser "back" to return to the gallery.

is there a way to open the photo in
1) a new complete window
2) in a "partial" window (just a IE window, without the menues, adress bar
etc.)

any other solution ?
