Im configuring a BCM setup, using Database Admin tool on a remote server and
connecting Office 2007 BCM clients to it.
For this to work, port 137 (and the SQL instance port) needs to be open in
the firewall. I have all my years as IT-professional been warned about this
port. It seems theres no other way to share the database, and I cannot find
any other threads about this, eventhough I think its a major concern.
What can justify me opening such a critical port on a server which contains
sensitive data (beside BCM, its running other secret stuff). Howcome Im the
only one thinking this is a real problem?
